              Final Reflection
 Hassan a friend so dear to Amir
One little arguement over a kite led Hassan to quite the fight
Assef you see refused to let Hassan keep the kite without an outrageous price
Poor Hassan for Amir had seen Assef collect the price
But didn't say a word, and later on it killed him inside.

Hassan would give anything for Amir no matter what
And he believed that Amir would do the same for him.
But Amir did not he saw poor Hassan being raped
And he ran like a dog with his tail between his legs
The Coward!

For now Amir later on in his life learns
That you can't forget the past for it always finds a way back.
He tries and tries but wouldn't fate have it
His wife Soraya just won't have it.
Without even knowing the poor girl reminds Amir
Through her past so full of regret that even Amir
Can control his memories no more.

Wouldn't fate have it that another beautiful day
Would come, and his nephew wants to fly a green kite
Not just for fun, but in the tournament.
Yes, the very same tournament that Hassan flew his blue kite.
Now Amir is the kite runner, and Sohrab is the one hoping to win.
Wouldn't fate have it for the cycle to start again
But only to end with a happier ending.

Oh how Amir wishes to forget
Forget what one may ask
The horrible thing he did to one he calls a friend.
Oh how he longs to forget.
Please let me forget he cries.
Forget.

Oh how Amir wishes to forget
He wants to forget how he ended up betraying a friend.
He longs to froget how he saw him getting raped
And how he just ran like a coward.
Please let me forget he cries.
Forget.

Poor Amir you say?
No, no, no for as fate would have it
The girl he loves unknowingly reminds him of it.
She tells him about her past, and all the guilt
When unknowingly she won't let him forget all of his.
Please let me forget he cries.
Forget.

No one will ever let Amir forget.
Please let me forget he cries.
Forget.

               Ballad
A couple of boys causing all kinds of trouble
And Ali telling them what his mother told him when he was little.
Hassan running a big, beautiful, blue kite
The kite ends up landing in an ally way where there's bound to be double
The trouble of anywhere else poor Hassan gets stuck in the middle
When three boys surround him, and Assef wants to get even with all his might.
A couple of boys causing some trouble.

As Amir gets older he tries to forget what he did
He, and Baba decide to get away from their little town
They run into a few little problems, but nothing real big
Now Amir is an adult, and starting college
And his eyes wonder to a girl named Soraya.
He falls in love with her, and finds every excuse to talk with her
Or to even walk by her, and all he wants to do is marry her.
A couple of kids causing all kinds of trouble.

After Baba, and the general work everything out
Amir, and Soraya are happily engaged
The wedding comes a little bit sooner since
Baba doesn't have a lot of time left to live.
Amir, and Soraya are happily married, and talking about her past
Amir can't help, but listen and try to stop his own memories from
The past that are coming up fast.
A memory causing all kinds of trouble.

Now Amir's a grown man
Sohrab his nephew wants to fly
A giant, gorgeous, green kite
The positions from the past are now completely switched
Amir is the kite runner who's running for his nephew
Just like Hassan was his kite runner.
A moment causing all kinds of trouble

                 Found Poem

 "Whatever you wish." Assef unbuttoned his winter coat, took it off, folded it slowly and deliberately. He placed it against the wall. I opened my mouth, almost said something. Almost. The rest of my life might have turned out differently if I had. But I didn't. I just watched. Paralyzed. Assef motioned with his hand, and the other two boys separated, forming a half circle, trapping Hassan in the alley. "I've changed my mind," Assef said. "I'm letting you keep the kite, Hazara. I'll let you keep it so it will always remind you of what I'm about to do."(73)

Assef unbuttoned his winter coat slowly, and deliberately
he folded it and placed it against the wall.
I opened my mouth, almost said something, but I didn't
the rest of my life might have turned out differently if I had.

Paralyzed I just watched as Assef motioned with his his hand,
and the other boys separated forming a half circle
Trapping Hassan in the alley.
"Whatever you wish Hazara, and I've changed my mind,
I'll let you keep it so it will always remind you of what I'm about to do"
Almost always Assef.

                Ode to Redemption

Redemption is like doing something
to clear a guilty conscious;
Redemption is that long awaited rain fall
after a terrible drought.
Redemption, Redemption where would we
be without you?

Redemption is someone insisting on
giving back to someone or something for
a mistake that has been made;
Redemption, Redemption where would we
be with out you?

Without you redemption we wouldn't be
where we are today since so many great
minds have to redeem themselves;
Great minds must redeem themselves after
an experiment fails, but like a baby learning
to walk they get back up, and try again;
Redemption, Redemption where would we
be without you?

Without redemption there would be no Earth,
no life since everyone must redeem themselves
at one point or another;
Redemption, Redemption where would we
be without you?

Without redemption no one would be able to
forgive, and forget because in order to do that
one must redeem themselves;
Redemption, Redemption where would we
be without you?

Redemption, Redemption where would we
be without you?

Redemption, Redemption we would be no
where with out you.

Amir
Trouble maker, a good son, brave
Son of Baba
Baba, Hassan, and Ali
Happy, scared, angry
Seeing undying devotion in Hassan's eyes, that Hassan is hurt, that he let Hassan down
Feeling accepted by his dad, winning the kite tournament
He wanted to feel accepted by Baba, he wanted to forget that he saw Hassan being raped,
Lives with Baba in a giant house with Ali, and Hassan living in a little shack next door on his property

                   Sight
So many different birds
with different colors, feathers, and more;
The different animals are so many different shapes, and sizes.

The clear, blue sky with a
few lonely clouds;
Time to see how many shapes we can find.

A powerful sense
One that we all need
Or at least some seem to think we do;
Seeing may be believing but
For some their are many different ways
To see.

So many things in this world to see,
Everyone has a way to see in this world
Some by listening, and picturing
Others by feeling, and picturing it;

Sight is music just without the band
The lyrics, and screaming fans,
Music is envisioned by an idea
Sight is needed to see that idea in
Many different forms.

       The dusty old picture

So many words covered up,
And framed in wood, and glass

A dusty old picture

Will be shiny,
and look brand new once it's all clean
and in plain view

Instead of in a box up in the attic
Where the dusty old picture is alone,
and forgotten.
